Not even science is objective

As a female scientist, I am not unaware of the traditionally masculine history of the field. I know of women who have been discouraged from becoming involved in the sciences by men, as I'm aware than any filed that is of a predominantly male character can have that entrenched mindset that women 'aren't as suited for the work' because- women aren't ( Read more... )

Ugh, that magazine cover is just gross. :/

This reminds me of an article I read in my psych class about how even the descriptions used to describe eggs and sperm are still extremely biased/sexist. We think science is objective, but really it still isn't.
