A fine rant, indeed. However, I think G.W. Bush and his fear-mongering Neocon buddies got exactly what they wanted out of Terror: better control of the populace in order to "stabilize" society. Keywords: Team B, CIA, Neocon

Yes, you're absolutely right. Bush got exactly he wanted thanks to bin Laden, just as bin Laden got exactly what he wanted thanks to Bush. They were quite a team, weren't they?

I even wonder if bin Laden waited until Bush was in office to pull off 9/11, knowing Bush would be more likely to respond as he wanted than Clinton.

Yup, it certainly was. I often wish I could go back in time 8 years with my knowledge of (some of) what happened during them. But then it'd probably be like those old Twilight Zone episodes in which somebody travels back to 1865 and tries to prevent the Lincoln assassination, but nobody believes him until it's too late...
