Defcon: overhyped, overpriced, and poorly run

It's now Sunday in Las Vegas. For most of the weekend I've had a terrible head cold, probably picked up on the plane ride here

Zaitcev pointed me towards your entry and I'm happy to report that Defcon will be moving into a larger hotel next year (every once in awhile it outgrows the location and has to move, attendance this year was even higher than expected), I believe they're planning to bring DCTV back, which streams talks into the hotel rooms and the overcrowding that happened this year isn't entirely typical. Attendance was at a record high and while they expect increases each year, apparently this year was even faster growing than most. I can see why someone who came to Defcon this year for the first time could get a pretty bad opinion of it

Thanks for your comment. If Defcon does move to a bigger hotel, and especially if they'll broadcast the talks on the hotel TV system, I just might go back next year. That would change a lot of things.
