Well, if you can show me how Germany can completely replace ALL of its fossil plants along with its nuclear plants, that would be absolutely wonderful. I love renewable energy; I have solar panels on my own roof and I plan to add more ( ... )

Something to keep an eye on is the push in Japan to get more solar onto the grid. As you know, some 4 to 6 nuclear reactors in Japan are permanently offline since being inundated by the 3-11 2:46 tsunami. I've been following your page (ka9q) for over 10 years; my Chevy Volt should be delivered in about 1 month. Hopefully the EV-1 and "Who killed the electric car" chapters are behind us. I'm waiting for the affordable flexible solar panels that are sure to come of the Japanese technological push so I can offset my few dollars of electricity for the car from solar. In Ontario, at night, most of the electricity comes from nuclear, so I guess my Volt will be nuclear for a couple of years.

Both Japan and Germany, plus other countries including the USA, are deploying solar. I personally think there's a role for both rooftop PV and centralized thermal solar plants in the desert ( ... )
