They're looking for food, this time--Noatak had mentioned a dish from his childhood, and Lu Ten had never tried it. As he opens the door, hoping for a kitchen or a restaurant or the like, Noatak wonders when they had started looking for other things besides just a way back to Republic City. And he wonders if their...friendship could have been like

"We can check all the exits after we've eaten," he cracks, sliding into the seat across from Noatak. "Don't think I've ever been to this place - it was kind of a hangout for the pro-bending set, wasn't it?" Who knows, maybe the draw of the noodles outweighed rubbing elbows with a bunch of jocks and hangers-on. "So what would you recommend?" He scans the menu, looks up - notices Noatak's expression...
Out of curiosity, he flips his own menu over.
After a moment, he goes back to perusing the entrees.
"Maybe I'll go for the bottomless noodle bowl, I'm starving."

"The sea prune stew is a specialty," he says, casually. "If you avoid eating around pro-bending matches, the atmosphere is quiet. There are a fair number of Equalists and sympathizers that enjoy this shop--I suspect the owner serves bigger portions to non-benders." He glances up at Lu Ten, and then back down at the menu. The other side of the menu.

"Hm. Maybe if you get it, I'll try a little. Sometimes," he confesses, "I can be a little picky. Maybe that's why nobody ever told me about this place." Hmph. And he thought he'd had friends among the Equalists, too. Especially the one sitting across from him.
Letting one side of his mouth quirk upward into a half-smile, Lu Ten glances down the list of dishes and decides on tentacle soup. In the spirit of vengeance. "Wanna get it over with or wait a while?"

Noatak conspicuously studies the menu again. "I...couldn't risk running into you." Not that he hadn't thought about telling him, despite that.
He huffs a laugh. "We wouldn't want to interrupt our meal." With that, he slides out of the booth and stands awkwardly.

"Yeah, but one of the other grunts could've mentioned it sometime," he grouses. He wonders what would have happened, if he'd ever gone to an out-of-the-way noodle shop and run into some cute Northern guy- "There wasn't anyone else who would have recognized you?" It's a sobering thought. He knows better than to ask about Tarrlok, at least.
Okay. Right. We're doing this, man. We're making this happen. Lu Ten rises from his seat, faces Noatak, awkwardly... raises his arms...
Guy love, that's all it is. Between two guys!
