My good friend princesslacus recently started watching (and loving) SGA, and I've been reminiscing. I've been doing a rewatch, and I've been rereading some of my favourite fanfic (and trawling through rec lists for ones I haven't read before). I love the "David Hewlett, how are you so awesome?" campaign (where hundreds (thousands?) of fans sent him postcards that just said "David Hewlett, how are you so awesome?")

I loved that, too! I still regularly ask my friends how they're so awesome. :D

I love that there were so many people who shared my David Hewlett obsession. It wasn't weird that I wanted to watch every single thing that David Hewlett and Joe Flanigan had ever stared in - it was weird that there were people out there who didn't want to do the same!

I love Rodney on morphine, talking to the military guy:

Rodney: "Have you seen a guy around? He looks like you but he has messy hair. I think I lost him somewhere. And a pretty girl and a caveman."

I love that the fandom had so much fic that my bookmarks are full of randomly awesome links, like the one where John was a dance teacher, Rodney likes John as a bug, WTF?, and poking is mean. Seriously, SGA is my gold standard for measuring fandoms now.

I completely agree. There are so many absolutely AMAZING stories out there. I reread Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot just the other day, and adored it even more than I remember. :)
