1. Listen, people, when I said I loved winter, I meant the regular Ashland/Portland/San Francisco kind, the kind where snow falls and is pretty and melts in a day, the kind where the morning low doesn't go lower than about 25. That is not the message the winter gods in Ashland got from me, however. Somehow they misunderstood and thought I meant ( Read more... )

OMD, your house is uninsulated and you only have space heaters? Keep lots of blankies on hand!

Nice video. We've had some hilly roads closed due to ice already this season.

Today at lunch, I went shopping: I bought an electric blanket and a third space heater. I also got a tip from a girl at work about rolling up towels to put in front of the drafty places of my door. So I'm going to go home tonight and try to make it a little warmer in there. I stopped short of buying flannel sheets; I'm going to back to San Diego in about a week (unless I get stranded here, which actually looks possible), and I just don't need flannel sheets there.

MOVING back to San Diego? Well stay warm until then...

We're supposed to get a big snowstorm tonight. If there's a snow day Chloe will miss her school Christmas party. And it looks likely my choir concert will be canceled AGAIN this year, because more snow is supposed to come all weekend.

That's crazy!!! I'm so glad I'm not there right now.

I agree with Em, I hope you have extra blankets. And hot chocolate.

I hope you are able to make it to Portland soon.

I have cider...mmmmm....

I'm going back to SD after Christmas and don't know when I'll get up to Portland again. :( Maybe in the spring. I'll definitely let you know.

Awww. That makes me sad. I was really hoping to see you while you were living in Oregon. I hope you do make it to Portland soon.

I may end up back in Oregon this summer. We'll see. But either way, next time I'm in Portland, I'm totally looking you up.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Seasons are overrated. If it makes you feel any better, it's cold and rainy here. I'm reminded of when you, me, and J went to Julian last year. When you come back, we're getting some apple pie.
