Grrr... so, apparently I can get to basic pages, like the livejournal main page and this update page, but I've been unable to load my flist reliably for two days, and individual journals/entries appear to be hit or miss

It has been spotty for me, but the past two days I can get to some pages (and only if someone links it for me), but no flist, none of my own LJ...

It's all due to DDoS attacks on LJ. Rumour has it that the attacks were a deliberate attempt to take down LJ (and to an extent, twitter and fb) prior to elections in Russia. http://in.ibtimes.com/articles/131388/20110407/livejournal-gets-ddos-attack-in-russia.htm. It's been written about in several articles so I'm not sure.
