Have you considered a career in event planning for a fundraising office? You have several higher ed. choices in your area; call up their directors of development and ask for an informational interview with someone who does event planning and donor relations! You would be great at that.

Well, clearly there are a lot of us who will pay attention right sharpish when you do have content to share. :-)

Sweetie, that sucks, and I'm really sorry. I have some chart-ish ideas that I will share with you when we are out there, if you want that kind of input, and while there is no way to say this without sounding hokey, I actually am not surprised that this happened.

However, I also believe - even when this sounds like the lamest and most stupid thing anyone could say - that no door swings shut without another one opening. It may not be much comfort now, but maybe that idea could sit in the back of your mind anyway.
