Title: A Holiday of Sorts
Pairing: Remus/Sirius
Rating: PG13
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Summary: After Christmas, during their sixth year at Hogwarts, Sirius visits Remus.
Notes: A bit different from my usual stuff. Many thanks to wildestranger for the read-through. Written for the birthday of the lovely liadlaith. Crossposted, pro'lly.

( Remus has insisted on carrying his suitcase for him, and Sirius watches him swing it in his hand as they make their way into a park spread with sharply frosted grass and criss-crossed with many tree-lined walkways. )

I really love the tone of this, although I can't quite put my finger on exactly what that tone is, but I like it just the same. The descriptions are marvelous, everything from Remus' mom the cat-lady to the snow-fight to the kisses.

There's almost an unfinished quality to this, but I rather like it. Like, it sort of ends with not much resolved, but hope for the future. Well done! :)

I think this is the first thing I've ever read by you in the present tense. Am I right in assuming this is to be your Shacking Up debut piece? Or wrong, of course!

Different from your usual, but excellent, as always. I do think you could have got a bit of porn in there, though! :D

I've done a couple of things in present tense, though it doesn't happen often, heh. It possibly depends on what I've been reading just before I sit down to write, heh. Yeah, I stuck it on shacking_up as well as rxs.

Heh, no porn, it just wouldn't, much as I wanted to, with them sleeping in the same bed. It was very nearly pre-slash, really.

OK, this says kabeyk at the top, but clearly something has gone awry, because there is no rampant shagging here. ;P

Honestly, though, I thought this was very beautiful. The sense of absolute hideous awkwardness came across really well. The discriptions were lovely and the whole thing was very atmospheric--stark and wonderful.
