You know the versions of her books that we read are "translated" to American English from the way she writes them, right?

Yes, I am aware of that, but I'm unsure what it has to do with anything. Are you suggesting that my low opinion of her writing style would improve if I just read her UK versions? If so, please allow me to be highly skeptical.

I'm pretty sure your opinion wouldn't change much, if it all, but there could be stylistic elements lost making it easier for Americans to read.

After all, we have Stephen King, another one of your favorites.
