I just saw excerpts from the DVD in question and I am appalled, horrified and repulsed. as you know from our major rant yesterday, i agree with everything you have said here.
the only thing i have to add is that i am terrified by the fact that teenagers are revealing they understand the concept of consent even less than i realised. i mean "she smiled, so it was ok"???
i wish i could say that these boys are an anomaly- and perhaps they present the worst end of the spectrum- but the fact is that this culture of "boys will be boys" contains the hidden premise that "girls will be exploited".

I can understand why people would want to post bulletins naming and shaming the boys who are reported to be involved in the Werribee torture and humiliation of a teenage girl. It's a horrible story, and the boys should be brought to justice ( ... )

there's something very sick about our society.
the important things - eg. kindness and compassion, seem to mean very little to kids. Ipods, money, things, cheap laughs are the currency of tomorrow.

apart from the all the pure evil that surrounds this brutal totrure, as much as people might want to jump to the defence of these fuckers, a young girl has experienced a series of events so horrific her life and that of her families will never be the same ( ... )
