linguini List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good but they must be songs you're really enjoying now
"roots on sidewalks" / inlets

the harmonies that this man comes up with are amazing. i highly recommend his EP which you can get/listen to (for free!) at
archive.org.
"there is an ocean" / donovan

i'd always liked donovan's voice. it's just so haunting. the low youtube quality can't do him justice -- find a high quality recording and listen to this in a room by yourself.
"popular mechanics for lovers" / beulah
i think beulah is one of the most enjoyable pop/rock bands of the past decade. every one of miles kurosky's songs has a great hook, and they're just so fun to listen to.
"dog in the burning building" / miles kurosky

...and here's some of kurosky's solo work! a new, small album of his just recently came out. i almost like the song more for this crazy music video though.
"your forgotten summer" / meeting house
some of this may be self-pimpage, but this is something that was thrown together for
our band. going to college, i've realised that playing music with the people i knew is what i miss most about leaving home... but it's nice how something simple as listening to a song can bring back those sensory memories.
"meadowlarks" / fleet foxes
fleet foxes seem to be the new hip thing to like. despite the whole stigma of being labelled a hipster (my own brother called me one the other day!) i still love them. no matter how trendy it seems, i don't think there's any denying that their echoey, new folk tunes are simply beautiful. makes me want to join gregorian chant.
"ghost of stephen foster" / squirrel nut zippers
all of my songs so far have been on the mellow side, so have something more upbeat from the masters of new jazz and swing: squirrel nut zippers! it's like i'm right back in the 90's. if you don't watch anything else up here, i highly suggest watching this if only for the crazy music video.
