I knew that tree was bad news :-) Great chapter, found myself sort of holding my breath all the way through, hoping that what I thought might happen wouldn't happen. Now I can go back and read again...slower. Awesome!

That was harrowing as hell, my dear! You took us right to the edge. So upsetting to find out that all that tenderness was Brian was making sure ”Justin’s last memory of him be seeing him come out of Owen’s bedroom.” This was way scary and suspenseful!

Well, at least this way Brian could let go and be all sweet and loving, as we all know he wants to deep down inside. :-)
