Dying to know just what Justin is up to because it seems like he's done this before. Or at least it's been alluded to from his conversation with Daphne. Yeah, time for the fiddler to go, guilt or no guilt. I love the way this it's written. I picture them lying in bed reminiscing about how they met some twenty years down the road. No money for the spots because Ethan's father isn't going to pay. Think Ethan was just blowing smoke just to keep Justin with him.
Brian and Justin are on fire! I can't wait for Ethan to be dumped on his dumb ass and out of this story! LOL
And it sounds like there's still lots more background info on Justin (and Daphne) to find out. (Or maybe it's in there, and I'm just too dense to see it!) :)
The moment when Brian confirmed Justin's name to Hovarth....I smell trouble down the road.
I am really enjoying how you're mixing canon in with this....the littlest hustler and the Kenneth Rickert story. Great stuff!
I had to look this Caffrey guy up. I'm so uninformed. And then I got disracted by the pretty. Wow, that guy looks good. Note to self: start watching White Collar. Thank you for that and for your comment, of course.
"Later, I will think that this was one of the few occasions I made a mistake which could have easily been avoided and might have changed everything. And all I had to do was ask a question."
Oh no, this line made me feel scared with this terrible knot in my stomach. There can never be anything easy when it comes to Brian and Justin.
Towards the end, I felt like Brian made a fatal error in transferring the money and Justin knows it, yet he did not stop it. I wish that I knew what was going on with Justin and why I feel like he is sacrificing Brian.
I think my heart broke a little in this chapter. See you Sunday!
You have a pretty good understanding of what's going on, even if you haven't worked out all the details yet. There's a general feeling of foreboding in this chapter, I hope, even without Brian wishing he'd asked Carl some questions. And you're right: nothing's ever easy when it comes to these two. But then again, that would be boring, wouldn't it? :-)
The reason I always put up the "next chapter here" is because it's easier for me to put the actual link there when I put the next chapter up later. It's just me struggling with posting. But it won't be active until the next chapter goes up. I'll try and remember to give the day of the next update instead. I forgot for this chapter. Sorry.

Brian missed an opportunity there with Carl but he doesn't realise it yet. There's certainly going to be trouble. Isn't there always? :-)
Thank you. I aim to please. :-)
