HI LJ I seem to be posting frequently these days. Anyway I figured I'd make a post here instead of continuing to spam the fuck out of Twitter.

The Yahoo articles are mostly stupid to begin with, but sometimes they REALLY stir me up. Especially this one about how spanking 'leads to aggression' in childrenLOL WHAT ( Read more... )

I completely agree with you. I got spanked as a kid and I dare say I turned out rather well! Not that all kids are the same, different things work for different people. But not gonna lie, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the reason I knew the difference between right and wrong before I even started kindergarten.

On the other hand, my mother absolutely refuses to smack my half-sister and she's turned out to be one f the most unmanageable kids I have ever seen. Not to mention she knows she can get away with anything without getting hit, now. All she has to do is scream and yell to get what she wants. Pfft.

But yeeeah, the only problem is a lot of parents don't know when to stop and go way too far. But I think if spanking is only used like you said, after warning, and only for serious misbehavior, it's fine. =3=b ...Oh wow, sorry for th tl;dr.

Nah it's cool, I enjoy hearing/reading about what others have to say about the issue :D

I know where you're coming from, what with your half-sister's brattiness D: My brother was the most annoying child in the universe because being the youngest, my parents had slackened a bit on the discipline. He pretty much got away with MURDER, among thousands of other things that the rest of us never had. SO ANNOYING! >3<

Kids are complete shitheads these days, they would totally benefit from the occasional spanking, LOL. You're right though, some parents really DO take it too far. A kid who gets spanked all the time for minor misbehaving is a kid I could actually see turning out to be a bad apple, of course in that case it's the parents themselves who suck rather than the method of discipline I suppose.

*noms on tl;dr*

THIS IS BRILLIANT. When my kid misbehaves I'm sending it to your place.
