and much fun was had by all! Despite a last-minute panic about teekup having a make-up childbirth class, the baby shower went off without a hitch! Mostly due to the planning and execution by mom_almighty and the_lword. And, of course, the fearless mission by senormysterioso, greybar, and e.p. to get dip. Those dips. :)

kendo_motoko and her dh, M, were also in jolly attendance, which was lovely as I ( Read more... )

Mom_almighty must have fantastic healing powers, to have a house suitable for company so soon after her surgery!

She does! She's like that X-Man character who heals nearly instantaneously. Which one was that, the girl with the stripe in her hair? That's mom_almighty. I think that she might have had help from her dh, M, though. :)

You know, DH and I have a theory that everyone has a superpower. Maybe that's mine. "Heals from major physical trauma more rapidly than a speeding locomotive" or something like that. Useful in such instances. I do remember healing remarkably quickly after childbirth. DH's superpower is his highly developed sense of smell. I can put two different flavored Skittles into my mouth, and he can tell which two flavors they are if I breathe on him. Weird, and not entirely useful. But a fun party trick.

And he did help with the cleaning. :) We're both really glad the house was de-fuzzed enough so the allergy sufferers could stay for a few hours. It was so good to see everyone!

Thanks to you all! I had such a wonderful day spent with wonderful, thoughtful friends and adorable young-'uns! Not much longer now (I think I say that every week though)!

Having three diaper genies wouldn't be so bad if you have a multi-level house. Most parents I know that have that problem set up a changing station on each floor, and having a diaper genie for each is a good idea.

I did end up returning both of my extra ones, though, since we only live in a split entry.

The diaper genie does rule, though. It's a little weird to get used to, but it's great once you do.

We have 2 diaper genies and they are awesome. One upstairs and one downstairs. :)
