You're really good at writing Jack and how he bonds with people by working with them. It's great to see the TARDIS so completely realised and described. Jack's grown a lot in confidence and authority, but also in sensitivity, and that really shows through.

I thought the way the Doctor raised the subject of his other self's dead body was incredibly well-done - he's beginning to realise how badly he needs other people around.

Thanks so much for your compliments! I figured Jack's experiences at Torchwood since the Doctor abandoned him would've made his confidence, authority and sensitivity grow, and that it'd make it easier for him to relate to the Doctor and get emotionally closer to him.

The Doctor needs his companions very badly indeed. Trouble is, will he finally see the error of his ways and keep them with him?

Another great chapter... This line "“Oh my God!” he added in a pitch-high voice, clapping his hand over his mouth to stifle a fake gasp of surprise. “But… it’s bigger on the inside!”" is hilarious... I really love your Jack shows empathy and cares for the Doctor...

Just caught up with this, and I'm thoroughly entranced. Love the way you're picking at their characters and the way their relationships have shifted. I'm both looking forward to and dreading when Rose gets the story behind Jack's immortality every bit as much as I'm looking forward to and dreading whatever the Doctor's next move is going to be.
