As some of you know, 2011 has been a rather horrible year for me so far (bar my job, which is just as time-consumming as it's fantastic), but this summer proved that there can be a silver lining in every cloud.

I know, I know, I owe you an email - better still, a Skype call. When would work for you?
And that's wonderful! I'm so thrilled for you, especially with the disappointment last year over Hamlet and everything you've been going through in the last year. I'm so glad you got to meet the two of them and talk to them, and this is a lovely photo :) YAY!

Maybe next Saturday, late morning my time - around 11, which would be 5:00pm for you. How would that work?
And I'm off to the UK on Thursday next week, to meet up with yconnell and yamx, also to see MAAN!

*nods* I can imagine there'd be quite a crowd. Glad you got to be first! :)
I wonder what it's like being a celebrity like that. I sometimes find it difficult that I can't walk through town without running into at least a dozen students. (I love my students, but sometimes I'm just having a bad day and my hair is weird and I'm wearing an old shirt and I just want to buy some milk and be left alone!) Imagine if EVERYONE knew your face... *shudders*

I definitely wouldn't like to be in their shoes. That said, the encounter happened at the stage door, where David and Catherine come out every night for a few minutes especially to sign autographs, take pics and meet the fans.
