[Drabble] Bin the past

Just a simple clean out. Throwing away unwanted notes that accumulated throughout the years, keeping those I thought I needed. And then, I found them.

Your artworks. The ones I had commissioned from you. I had printed them long ago and left them in the growing pile of paper following the fall out. As I stared, agitation gnaws my heart.

Not to say your works were hideous. Far from it actually. There was no doubt that your artworks were decent. But it was a painful reminder of your character you probably unwittingly revealed to me.

"She's still the same character so, I'm just reusing the old pose."

What a fool I was, to not have seen it at that point. Only artworks with your 'protagonist', your 'original' characters, were the ones you truly put effort into making. Other people's characters didn't matter.

"I'm giving you a friend discount!"

It was nauseating. I hated that excuse. Had I been in the right mind back then, I would have withdrawn from commissioning you. The paper in my hand crumples as I bite my lip. Those were the painful memories. Those were the memories that made me wish I had never come across you.

No. It was over. Dwelling never accomplished anything. One last glance at my characters whom you distorted, I tear the paper to pieces and throw them into bin. I'll never see them again. I wouldn't be able to escape your works on the internet, but not seeing the distorted works you made of my characters would be the only saving grace I have.
