Asuka's been here for a solid day, and I am astonished. She ahs acclimated to the house almost immediately, except she's got one little quirk. After you leave her in her room (used to be my room, but now there's a kitten in there), she stands at the door and YELLS. This is not crying, not "I miss my momma and my friends", this is "How DARE you leave me in here? I require someone to watch the cute!!!"
Other than that, she's a very quiet kitty. I was expecting a true Siamese chatterbox, but the most nosie she'll make with a person around is a steady, constant purr. She was relatively okay at night... not too much pouncing or playing, but she wanted pets. She got up on the bed, cuddled up, started purring and kneading... but she kneaded my FACE. And she has all of her claws. I have lots of teeny scratch marks on my face now. And, of course, since I have a mild allergy to cats, I didn't want anybody close to my face, much less my angel lilac point Siamese. After awhile, though, she settled right down, and we had a pretty good night.
We also had a bit of a scuffle yesterday... Asuka was shut up in my room, so she could get used to things before being introduced to Buffy, who is roommate's antisocial meanie kitty. Asuka got out of my room a few times, and went straight for Buffy to go say hi, though I scooped her up before Buffy could freak out. Finally, we figured it might be okay to try a playdate, but Buffy was having none of it. She started yowling, and Asuka got scared and headed for the hills (the boxes in the kitchen). Buffy dashed off, and I grabbed Asuka and put her back in her safe place. She got a little less adventurous about going out of the room after that, though, and she actually spent a little time under the bed. She's pretty much comfortable here, which is awesome, so I'm very happy with that.
