Have you tried the Internet Scrabble Club? It's real-time, and you can play strangers, or beat up on your friends. Free, generally pretty reliable. There is a little fiddly business with the settings, because there's an option to have it verify that words are legal before they go on the board (versus the more traditional method of having the words go, and the other player has one turn to make a challenge). My only complaint is that the Mac version isn't quite as smooth, but that's par for the course.

Not... that you need MORE things to do! LOL

Even realtime internet scrabble doesn't appeal to me. The first time someone used an "odd" word, I'd assume they were using some anagram thingie. At least with correspondence, we knew we were both using one (kinda like chess, opening books are allowed in correspondence games - though computers aren't, that part has to be taken on faith though... I don't really know what my point here is). :)
