Worlds Apart: Oriel/Gorlyn Side Story

Here's what happens with Oriel and Gorlyn while away from Neisk in chapter 57. I'm debating posting it to Orig_Slavefics as a stand alone. Do you think it stands alone or do you have to have read the whole story to get it?

This is great. I think it could stand alone, although it is a nice additional scene from your story. :)

Lovely! Oriel is just such a sweetheart! I love this line: "Friends don’t beat each other, right?"

I think it works quite well as a stand-alone. Of course, all the subtle little details that are part of the longer story get skipped over (Gorlyn's history with paddles, Oriel's history in general), but it doesn't leave anything confusing.

I think this can stand alone, it works well as a single piece.
Oriel is such a kind person. Gorlyn must be thanking the gods that he has two people in the household he can count as friends.

I agree it can probably work as a stand-alone, but it's hard to say because since I have read the rest, it's hard to think away what I know of the background. I don't know how much I would have gotten from this, if this was the first I ever read of these characters. Maybe I wouldn't have understood the context very well, but I know for sure I would still have enjoyed the dynamics between them just as much!
