Canada could have been the one who landed on the moon. It is such a bitter pill that us Canadians live with. Well, at least those of us who are History buffs. This morning in Metro News there was an article about the 40th anniversary of the U.S. landing on the moon and it served as a reminder that Canada could have been the ones to do it. A

I did not know this. But, I also suck at history.

Actually, Garth strongly maintains that New Zealand were the first to fly, not the Wright Brothers. I'm too lazy to research it. The States is a glory hound, isn't it?

Yes, the Avro Arrow is one of the great Canadian conspiracies. Our form PM claimed he never gave the orders to destroy them, but files have been made public that he did. There is also speculation that it was in reaction to a threat President Eisenhower issued. It's fascinating. I've done a fair amount of research on the topic. There is a great mini-series on the subject that stars Nigel Bennett.
