Nick is teething again. It's so much easier to tell this time. He points at his mouth (pointer fingers actually inside his mouth) and tells me, "Mouth hurts!"
I'm reminded of the year my wisdom teeth came in. I was in college and miserable. One day I was sitting on the couch at a friend's house, next to her year-old daughter who was also teething. She, of course, had a proper teething ring, and we sat next to each other and commiserated.
Eventually she noticed me holding my jaw and groaning, and handed me the teething ring. It was kinda chewed up and covered in baby-slobber, but I figured what the heck, and wiped it off some.

The things still work, even on wisdom teeth.
