Totally with you on that one. I'm feeling that purging thing going on as well shortly.

Part of it has been necessity - I am tired of always "catching up" - I wanna stay current with my peeps.

The other part was a surprise - in a couple of ways actually - but after much serious thought - I just don't feel comfy in that position, not with the perspective that I have.

I don't require everyone to be all serious and supporting or whatever, but I don't want deceptive friends, even ones who "only" lie by omission.

Yeah, sometimes that can be a tough position to be in.

I'm learning more and more every day who's trustworthy among my friends... I count myself lucky though that I am very picky about who I will add... otherwise I'd have way more people on my list than I do now.

Some of the ones I'm getting rid of are much like you said... dead journals no longer being used or just people I've lost touch with.

if that person even reads my lj, they will know what i mean. it was a case of them directly being asked something, and (what I felt was intentionally) muddling the answer to be vague, and then when they were pressed on it, got even more deceptive. you know what? i wasn't even the one asking the question - i just observed it all go down. but it was enough to bother me for this long (maybe a week by now).
if we were gossips (hehe) and i told you names and places, you'd be unsurprised anyway.
