long overdue mp3 post, and memes

Typical Becca to throw memes and mp3s into one post because she's too lazy to put them into two separate ones. Thank god for the lj-cut tag, that's all I have to say. :P

a meme a day keeps boredom at bay )

I suspect you got the Coven 13 from me, it was in one of my music DLs IIRC. ;)

I've pretty much got all of these tracks, so I don't need to DL anything, but nice selection nonetheless!

Ehm, also, I own both WHR OSTs, if you need anything. ;p

Oh and the reason Forsaken sounds so good is because the guy from Korn wrote it and every other damn bit of music for that crap movie - but they shafted him and wouldn't let him sing his own freaking songs on the soundtrack, because QotD the movie basically became one big music video, and they wanted all the "hip" bands to perform on the soundtrack instead. Rage.

That's interesting that it comes form KoRn, because I'll admit I've never liked them at all. :P

Yeah, the Coven 13 probably is from you if you had it up on a post any time in the last 6 months. ^_^ Now I'm trying to think of something I could put up that you don't have... hmm...

Do you like Bella Morte or have anything of theirs? I don't have a lot of their stuff, but what I do have kind of fits with my weirdness mood. *is now determined to scour through her stuff for more*

And WHR OSTs would be fabulous! My brother has all of OST 2, so once Mike fixes his access account to our big music hard drive, I'll be able to get all of OST 2 from him then. But I don't have much of OST 1, and there's one track on the DVD menu that I really want. It's in the extras section, and if you go to the part where it gives credits for the DVD menu layout, there's this awesome song that plays about 3 minutes, and it's got bells and a techno backbeat.

I'm 50/50 on Korn, but I have to admit I was stunned into silence with what Jonathan Davis (at least I THINK it was him, I will be mortified if I'm wrong ;) ) did for the soundtrack and, more importantly, what he and Richard Gibbs did for the score. The movie itself is.. well.. it's nothing short of a travesty, to be honest. It's like one big whangst-fest teeny bopper Evanescence video, and it retains nothing of Anne Rice except for some character names, really. But I do own the score, and it is gorgeous. ;D I couldn't bring myself to give anyone money for the soundtrack, because it's just gross to have an artist write all these great songs for you and then NOT LET HIM SING THEM, but I have MP3s of my favorites. He sings them himself in the movie, and it is SO MUCH better, though not worth the psychological trauma of watching said movie just to hear them.

Oooh, more recent anime recs would be awesome. ^_^ I've been pretty out of the loop on that, to be honest. I've only watched two animes in the last year that weren't Inuyasha (and I burned out on that like in '04), and those have been WHR and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. Yeah, that's a combo, huh? :P ( ... )

I love your mp3 posts, and I'm so glad to see you flitting around LJ again; it's been too quiet without you ;)

I downloaded a few of these tracks - "Siren", "Overburdened", "Haunted", "Forsaken" and "Flame" - and I'll listen to them when I transfer the files from this computer to my personal lappy; I have confidence in your good taste, though *g*

I'm so glad you enjoyed WHR. It's one of my favourite anime series, but not many people seem to have actually heard of it. I love Amon and his wonderful character ambiguity, and the background music was always hauntingly appropriate. Speaking of!

Witch Hunter ROBIN - Track 20.
Witch Hunter ROBIN - Track 21.

I'm not sure what soundtrack they're from, and I don't even know the track names, or whether you already have them, but they're pretty and I figured I'd share - at least until someone can get you rips of both OSTs :)

And if you're looking for anime recs, I've totally fallen in love with Chrno Crusade (sometimes romanized as Chrono Crusade) lately. I know it's going to break my heart ( ... )

I could send the music to your Gmail account, y/n? kaerra @ gmail . com? Is there anything specific you'd like, or will I just bundle up most of the stuff and send away?

Could you just let me know if you have any of these already, so I don't send them again needlessly? And also, I'm putting up more music today, so keep an eye on my LJ. :)

And I noticed all the belated comments, yes. Good I have e-mail notifications on, otherwise I'd probably have missed them altogether.

*snugs you back*

The email addy is correct, you guessed well. :P I'll be sure to go over to check your latest mp3 post as soon as I finish up replying here.

In any case, I already have these tracks: all the Loreena McKennitt, the Peter Gabriel one with Deep Forest, Every You Every Me (all the other tracks from the "Without You I'm Nothing" I don't have on mp3, so I'll welcome the chance to get them from you. One of these days I'll find a cd-ripper program for Linux, and if you don't have all the songs from that cd, I'll rip them to mp3 and send them your way). Oh, I have a track I just got off of deepredbelle's current post which features Brian Molko on vocals (the lead singer of Placebo, in case you didn't know), so I'll send that your way as well. I remember Heather Nova from way back when (Tower Records days, I think, so '99), but I was not a big fan of hers then. If you could pick a few of your favorite tracks of hers and send them to me, that'll give me a chance to reevaluate. And if I like it, you're welcome to send more later down ( ... )

I fear I may have to disavow all knowledge of you for admitting to Celine Dion. The fact that you did this in the very room next to mine is bad enough, but the fact that you did this in the very room next to mine, and I didn't KNOW, is SO much worse. I feel so, betrayed. So terribly, terribly BETRAYED.

Heh.

It occurs to me that, if I keep leaving you comments like these, your friends will all hate me. Oh well - such is the lot in life of a little brother.

If you want musica to go up, whine at me, btw, and it shall. (assumes Zim voice) Oh, how it shall be uploaded....

Heh, you can consider us even after the years I put up with all the non-stop Weird Al in your room (which I DID know about, and really wish I hadn't, heh heh...).

Thank you for all the lovely Helium Vola et al tracks! I know that some of these will be very welcome to people on my flist (as well as me, heh). ^_^
