Well, I should probably post the results from the "25 song lyrics" meme I did last week, but I don't even know how many people even saw it. It seemed like a lot of my flist was pretty quiet last week. So, I'll put the answers under a cut, which you can just skip if you want to try your hands at the lyrics first.

By the way, hallowd, did you even catch my mp3 post last week? I put up two tracks for you, but I'm betting now that you didn't get them. If so, let me know and I'll email them to you directly.

Okay, time for the music!

Once again, there really isn't any particular rhyme or reason for these track selections. Some are requests, some are tracks that I think a particular person might like, the rest are songs that just struck my fancy today, so they're going up for that reason alone. But we have a nice variety, genre-wise, so that is definitely a happy thing.

First up, the last 6 tracks of the Castlevania: Lament of Innocence disc 1 for indigochild76; that means I'll put up a good chunk of disc 2 for the next mp3 post. ^_^

Castlevania LOI--Melancholy Joachim

Castlevania LOI--Ghostly Theatre

Castlevania LOI--Nightmare Aria

Castlevania LOI--Snake Head Medusa

Castlevania LOI--Prison of Eternal Torture

Castlevania LOI--Blood-stained Demise

The following is two different versions of Vivaldi's Concerto No. 6 in A minor, Allegro movement. The first one we actually played at our wedding ceremony (at the end of the recessional), and the second version I just found today since I had XMMS on random, and it just popped up that way. Really, it's a question of take your pick, but both versions are different enough to keep things interesting.

Vivaldi--Concerto in A Minor, Allegro (version 1)

Vivaldi--Concerto in A Minor, Allegro (version 2)

The Chieftains feat. Loreena McKennitt--Ye Rambling Boys of Pleasure

This is off of a Chieftains album from 1999 (which you can find more info about here) which features a number of guest artists, ranging from Loreena to Sinead O' Connor to Natalie Merchant to Joni Mitchell. As far as I know, Loreena is pretty reclusive and mostly sticks to her own projects, but in this case, her involvement makes sense. Caroline Lavelle, who was a member of The Chieftains (and may still be, despite doing several solo projects over the past few years), also does the back-up vocals for Loreena on The Mask and Mirror, and perhaps even on her most recent album as well. It's kind of cool to think that Loreena returned the favor here. But now I'm thinking about tracking down some of the other songs on the album (especially the Natalie Merchant one). *fires up MLDonkey* In any case, if anyone doesn't have this Loreena track yet, have at it! A nice rare compilation effort.

LOVE PSYCHEDELICO--Last Smile

I nabbed this from one of wonderelf's older mp3 posts, so I'm not sure which LP album it's off of. For those on my flist who might have missed the last time I posted a song by this band, they're a J-Pop group that sounds a bit like, as wonderelf has put it, " Tuesday Night Music Club era Sheryl Crow, but better" (loads better). In any case, since deepredbelle is a fan of theirs, hopefully this is a track of theirs that you don't have yet, hon. ^_^

Mesh--Involved (Snare remix)

Yeah, it's been quite some time since I posted any Mesh. This isn't a new track, but I'm pretty sure I've not put it up in the past. It's a nice dark remix (although I haven't heard the original version, which is probably bad, but the thing with Mesh is that, especially with their last album, the remixes are usually better). In any case, this song would fit nicely in a clubbing scene in Blade 4 or any other vampirish or Matrix-y movie.

Mesh--Remember Who You Were

Another Mesh track that I know I haven't posted before. I suppose these are going up now because they're about to release a new album, sometime in the next few weeks. I'll have to wait for a few tracks to hit the filesharing networks before I decide whether it's worth a purchase. (Same thing with the new Theatre of Tragedgy album, although the one sampler track I've heard was pretty good). In any case, this sounds like older Mesh, and it's nice and dark and darkwave without any of those annoying pop strains that appear in their later stuff.
