I don't think anyone would fault you for choosing opt 3, to be honest. However, I can understand you're not wanting to get rid of stuff that can't be found elsewhere too.

Perhaps you can contact OTW and see if they have anyone willing to help archive it there? I know they have somekind of archiving going on for yahoo pages stuff. Maybe they'll be willing to help w/your archive.

Saw this on friendsfriends, hope you don't mind a stranger butting in--

I know the OTW has some projects devoted to preserving archives that the archivists don't want to deal with anymore. I don't know how far along they are in developing those projects (I'm not involved with them at all, I've just seen discussions), but I think you can contact them here and they might be able to help you out:

I would move the website, backup the archives to some non-internal device (harddrive, burn to dvds, whatever.) Then delete the archives. Before deleting I'd make some effort to let people know you're not going to maintain them so they can have the chance to take it over, or something. But I wouldn't just delete the archives wholesale, without doing *something* to preserve them.

Failing that, I'd just move them as-is and not try to fix them, but maybe you could ask for someone who's interested in taking it over and making it all nice.

Fourthing the OTW suggestion, but also pointing out that Option 1 is not a bad option.

You may also, if you really want to get rid of the whole thing, want to check and see if The Wayback Machine has archived the stuff you've posted or not.
