FREEEEDOM!

So for the first time in almost two years I have the house to myself. Robbiee has gone to Niagara Falls for some video game conference thing that I wish I was at. He's gone for five days. The only hook is that I have to look after his evil cats. That's not a big problem (other than the fact that they just drop turds all over the place and the ( Read more... )

Haha, I lived in that house like 8 or 9 years and NEVER had A/C. There were some days the summer could be ridiculous, but I found the house stayed pretty cool on it's own. Something about the wood or something. I loved it tho. I didn't get spoiled, so now that I live on my own and pay the bills I am alot more conservative than my A/C spoiled friends are. But I get to enjoy the quiet of night Windsor and the leaves in the trees like you, and that's the best part. :D

I really miss living there in the fall and winter. It's just such a nice, "homey" house. Hoping to move back in that area sometime next year. Hoping.

Enjoy your freedom while it lasts. :D

Yeah, I found for the first year or two that I didn't need A/C and like you said the house stays pretty cool on its own. But I replaced the furnace last year and figured I might as well put central air in at the same time (since he was running a window A/C 24/7!) And yeah this is a very 'fall' house. The shade of the tree (and the changing colours) and the wood make it very homey. I seem to entertain more in the winter. I think people just like how cozy this house can get.

And I never grew up with A/C either, so I'm used to sweating a bit or just putting on a fan. but these other kids... I dunno.

I hope you do get to move back in the area soon. It's a great place to live, despite what anyone says.

Glad to see someone agrees with me. My husband works downtown, and I have always wanted our (someday) kids to go to Victoria school like I did. So definitely moving somewhere in that area and soonish.

Plus, I miss having easy access to the Greek fest.

There's no one with easier access to the greek fest than me.

But you know that. :-p

Everyone seems to love the nudity/underwear-ness of it. I can't say it's a bad thing at all.

My favourite is to shower with the bathroom door open, As long as you don't have one of them fire alarms that goes off at the first hint of steam. Actually, i just enjoy not closing any doors at all. Very open concept makes me feel free. I also find doors restrict air flows.

Go Robbie, Represent the South Windsor kids... we're a dying breed.

I understand about getting alone time in the house. Matt works either when I'm at work or when I'm asleep, but on Friday nights, watch out Windsor, I'm going to clean the freaking house!
We had a window A/C in this summer, an antique, it was so loud, I couldn't WAIT to get it out, we would have to blast the TV just to be able to hear it.
