So, I was watching the repeat of Jon Stewart this morning, smoking a bowl, still huddled in the blankets, and he had a guest on hocking a new show on Oprah's network. The clip was from last night's show, wherein a FTM's body was being critiqued for accuracy and quality by a Normal Joe gym jockey while the FTM worked out with a barbell ( Read more... )

Gender dichotomy is a tricky, and often stupid thing. There's this big spectrum, and yes, most of the population may fall to one side or another, but life in the middle can be complicated or impossible. I've never identified as "transgender" because I've felt that the term always implied wanting to belong to the other side, which I've never wanted. I've never wanted to belong to *either* side. The flexibility to choose sides, or the comfortable androgyny in the middle, has always been my preference ( ... )
