I'd be the last person to snicker at My Favourite Martian, given some of the spectacular rubbish I watched as a kid... :)

Heh - what were some of the things you watched, and possibly loved?

There was an Australian 'sf' show I can't even recall the name of, but the spaceship was honestly made of aluminium foil... and a puppet one called Space Patrol (which was old even then, being from the sixties, but here in Australia most overseas shows were old before we got them) which I still have a fondness for :)

And I also recall a cartoon King Arthur and a couple of cheap 'historical' series that fed tiny me's fascination for things past...

There's every chance that at least one of the shows you watched made it to Canada, since I remember the Australian outback featuring heavily in what I watched on the after-school show we had (Razzle Dazzle, with Howie the Turtle!) I think one of them was The Terrible Ten, about 10 kids who rode horses in the outback, and solved mysteries. I could probably even whistle the tune if someone started it for me.

I just checked and here it is. Also, its imdb page shows links to other shows that I think the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation snapped up, like "Adventures of the Seaspray" and "The Magic Boomerang."

Someday we must exchange stories (I admit I had wondered what caused your journey slightly east and significantly south, and whether it echoed mine in some way.)
