I like the journal/scrapbook idea! And I've always wondered too where teachers get off thinking s person - especially a young person who's just discovering for themselves who they are - can sum themselves up so easily (I've got a decade on you and I think I know even better now than I did then that I couldn't do it) And I totally agree with you on the assessment of guts or lack thereof, self-absorbtion is more like it indeed.

Sorry for taking so long to reply! I did my presentation on the journal/scrapbook today and it looks like it went over really well. My teacher seemed to really enjoy the idea. Eventually I just settled on using a tree as a metaphor--I said I wanted to nurture, as tree do their environments.

Well it's official she's gone now and I've been covering longer shifts because of it. Which isn't bad, since I get more cash. Unfortunately, I found out I'll be working most of my Christmas break. But the money will come in handy when the time to buy new textbooks comes around.
