I had off from work today, as it is the lovely state holiday of Lee-Jackson Day. Some odd southern thing I guess. We do get MLK Day off as well ( Read more... )

It used to be the SAME DAY. Seriously. It was Lee-Jackson-King Day. This strikes me as approximately as logical as Hitler's Birthday-Hanukkah.

Feeling better? I am. (Yay inhalers!) I'd been so happy that I didn't feel just AWFUL like I did the first two weeks, that I think I was overestimating how close to normal I felt now. I kept telling people I was at 85%--judging by how much better I feel this morning I think it was more like 50%. I mean, I'm actually considering going for a walk. Whoo!

I'm not sure what thrush is either. But I know from a cousin that nursing mothers can get it on their nipples, and part of the treatment involves painting them purple. I am not making this up.

Oh lovely. I hope inhaling purple dye isn't the next part of our treatment.

I've been feeling a lot better today. Hung out at work for awhile, as the first part of the wall got finished. I think/hope it will look cool. The blort got nixed, as the boss is already have nightmares about the chalkboard coming alive and eating people.

I went shopping and bought a practical new purse. And swiped some Spanish from a book for educators. Library Spanish type stuff. Like due date and fines.

Thrush generally refers to a yeast infection of the mouth. Yeah, you don't want to get this. It can happen if your immune system is out of whack (which can happen if you're on steroids, which suppress inflammation). http://www.webmd.com/content/article/66/79613.htm

Thanks! I love having librarian friends!

Shannon Hale. I will write that down. I read a good YA book from the library last month by Nancy Farmer. I think I should request more of her stuff. I'm going through books pretty fast lately.

I know the feeling. I'd also rec "Magyk" by Sage. It is the first book in a series about young magic users and magical stuff. They thick, but I went through them quickly.

Because I don't want them to know what I'm up to.

Laziness mainly.
