Just wondering
Is anyone else vaguely disturbed when reading smut written in the first person.
There is just something about it that usually bothers me. I think part of it is the unrealistic internal monolog that is used to relay events. The other part that I think irritates me is the seeming laziness with descriptions I see in a few of the stories I have read that were written in the first person.
If I am reading a story that's written in the third person I am essentially the fly on the wall, and I can deal with brief overviews of events and little description. If it has lots of elaboration and description that is an awesome bonus.
On the other hand if I am reading a story written in the first person I want description! I want details! I want to be made privy to all the little intricacies and nuances going on in that characters head! A simple "his spike pushed into my valve" will not do.
