So this month I have quite a few things going on. About mid month I go down to Florida for a week to meet up with some friends and after that I really want to try to make it up to TF-Con
( Read more... )
TFCon is a lot of fun. I went the year before last. I will be going this year too. So hopefully I'll see you there! :D
Not sure what advise you need, but last time I drove in I was somewhat confused by their highway system. It's like the NJ turnpike, with the side of the highway that's for 'express' and the side for merging exiting, but that's not how it's marked. ><;;; I will also be driving again. It's a 9 hour drive for me. 10 or so with a stop for lunch...
Not sure what other advise you want? I'm staying in the hotel TFCon is in... And they do have a pool. So bring a swimsuit if you want to swim? o__O?
I wanted to go last year but did not have a car of my own to get there, so now that I do I figure I should take advantage and finally go.
Hm knowing in advance that the highways are like that is really helpful actually this way I know to look up my route in advance and see if google maps can show me images of each of my merge and turn points so I am at least a little aware of what I should be looking for.
I'll probably leave myself something like 2-3 hours of extra time so that I can stop and stretch my legs for a couple minutes every few hours.
One of the things I was curious about is like start and end times. Like how Botcon registration check in is Thursday night from like 6-10 but actual events don't begin until Friday morning and everything ends at like 3 or 3:30 on Sunday.
Otherwise anything else that sticks out to you as something you wish you had known your first time would be appreciated.
It's only confusing on the highway like that in Toronto itself. Everything else was clearly marked. And despite my confusion I managed to take the correct exit. xD
I don't know regarding registration... You'll have to stalk their site for info. I am going as a vendor, so my partner paid in advance for us.
Something to know about it, though. First day is TFs, second day is open to all toys. Added vendors will appear the second day selling all sorts of toy-related stuff, TFs are still the main thing, though. Panels are held just like botcon, and when I went there was a Hasbro panel, too.
I'm fairly confident a GPS will get me where I need to go. It's a good thing I'm thinking about this stuff now because I just realized that I will need to borrow mom's or dad's GPS for this trip. Usually I use my cell but as soon as I cross into Canada I would be hit with roaming charges.
The site doesn't have the event schedule up yet but if all else I can book more days then I think I will need and once the schedule is up I can adjust my reservation to exclude the days I don't need.
