Responsibilities I have them

So yesterday had my first experience driving in NYC (I despise driving in cities with a passion) it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but then again it was only a couple blocks from the cruise ship docks back to the tunnel to escape back into NJ ( Read more... )

to wash a cat that's not used to being bathed you really need two people-with one person wearing leather gloves.

oh man, kaz knows i'm talking about baths, she just took off.

I figured gloves of some kind might help if I don't use the claw covers (I can taking biting a little better then 20 or so razor claws). I'll have to see if I can hunt down a pair I can use.

Unfortunately I am probably going to be alone in this venture (unless I can get my sister to come over for a bit after work) so I'll have to manage it on my own

Kaz is probably like "Don't get any ideas, I'm clean!"

kaz is ridiculously strong and tries to get out of the tub or sink, so one of us has to press down on her shoulders and keep her in the sink while the other person rinses and shampoos.

Chewy doesn't claw you, he just holds onto the faucet for dear life. XDD counter productive, but...

I'm expecting problems washing Fiona (like you describe Kaz) since she's the one that puts up the most fight so far with getting the other medicine rubbed on the bald spots (she likes trying to claw her way over my shoulder to escape)

Kenny is a little more laid back so I might have a little fight at first then just a bunch of crying kitty when he realizes there is no escape.

They are both still kittens so I can mange to hold them pretty well with one hand still so I think I may be alright until they get bigger. I think I'll try laying a towel or something in the bottom of the tub when I try bathing them so the smooth bottom of the tub doesn't freak them out and they can cling their claws into that instead of my arms

^ Batchix already said what I was going to say...it pretty much takes one person to hold the cat while the other does the washing, but if they're kittens it should be easier to do it by yourself.

Towel on the bottom of the sink/tub is a good idea. Also, expect to get wet :D

Enjoy your week of privacy/peace!

I shall enjoy the peace of the house the only commotions I will need to deal with are making sure the dog isn't bothering the cats too much.

I thought so, I used to was our dog in a bathing suit because there was no escaping getting wet with washing him.

I just hope not to have too many scratches by the time I'm done with the job.

Advice on washing a cat? Don't ;)

Last time I gave Annie a bath, I ended up wetter than she did. And with scars.

The shampoo has to stay on 5-10 minutes so no go on speed washing them.

I just finished this bath and I think I'll definitely con my sister into coming over and helping me put the claw covers on since they are supposed to be washed with this stuff 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks to get rid of the ringworm.
