Like, I can CTRL-Tab through all my active windows in XP. (Or any version of windows, as I recall) And you can Apple-Tab through all active PROGRAMS. Which means I can switch between the Finder and Firefox, but not between two different windows in firefox. Ugh.

F10.

And why the hell can't I select a spot in an adress bar (or any text box for that matter), hold shift and press end to select everything after that point? Hell, you can't even hold shift and cursor around in a lot of cases to do selections.

command-left (or command-right, depending upon which direction)

In fact, here's the entire list for you for moving the cursor without the mouse: http://www.gskinner.com/blog/archives/2006/07/mac_text_naviga.html

When it breaks down, I find that my biggest issue with Macs is that they are NOT keyboard-solo friendly. Typical user may never notice, but I grew up on DOS and Win 3.1, and I learnt all that stuff. And it's faster, and more ( ... )

Ack, sorry for the double post (remember how you couldn't call up? Yeah, our phone line is still acting up. Bell is promising to fix it, still).

Anyway, I should specify: F10 is for all the active windows in a given program (like, if you only want the 3 windows you have open in Firefox), while F9 is for all open windows (like, the 3 open windows you have in firefox and that level on kobo deluxe you just can't get past).

Well, you should know that I have looked for that info before and not found it.

I'll also note that I can never remember what the force-quit is.

Don't worry, if I want to Mac bash, I've got much better material that the stuff that annoys me like this.

Like errors that even the techs can't figgure out. Or native software incompatibilities that are totally inexcusable.

Force-quit is command-option-escape. ;)

And funny how that site I linked to was the second one on Google, eh? :D

I should hope you've got better material. I mean, even Gabe and Tycho are switching over to Macs. We need some non-Mac users or else we'll become a monopoly, and that would not be good. We'd lose our sense of community.

(and I hope you don't think I was actually angry--I wrote that comment with a playful tone, which is why I linked to the song at the end of the comment. It was my way of saying that I was just playing around with you. Perhaps I'm paranoid of being taken the wrong way, but my playfullness has been mistaken for anger on the internet before.)

(I miss you already. How dull and useless seem to me all the night's at Zaphod's without you there! Have I told you you're wonderful enough? It's true. Even though we never did dance there, you're just so intelligent and awesome that dancing with other hot guys doesn't really do anything. They don't have your wonderful personality.)

What?!
Oh, and here I was getting all worked up over nothing. Geeze. Now I need to find someone to make angry with me so I can be angry at them!
