Hence why there's step by step instructions, done by the careful loving hands of an obsessive insomniac!

that's really well done, greg. I remember long hours with my dad with a trainset we had when I was a kid. Where did you buy the grass tufts? I remember them being a lot more expensive than $5.

Thanks. I hear a lot of high honors for the materials they sell for Train hobbiests. I'd probably research them more if the scale wasn't so vastly different.

As for the flocking, I bought the two bags I'm using at Gryphon Games -- it's a short jaunt from STC. They've got a decent scenery modeling collection, though their emphasis is clearly on the games. Still, you can get various kinds of stuff like the flock, too. Materials to simulate long grass, acrylics designed to mimic water, flocking made to look like coal, sand, soil, and most other things you'd want. If I had more of a demand for it, I'd be looking for the Woodland Scenics snow. There's stuff for trees as well.

But yeah, 18 cubic inches of grass flock for just under $5.'Course if you don't use mixed colour flock, the piece will look like a golf green. Of course, that could be a nice effect too.

Ah, that's great. Yeah, the stuff we used to use for model trains were great, but super expensive. I guess that comes with the territory when you make different material for different scales. We were running HO scale - one of more common ones - and stuff was still pretty expensive.

I guess I'll be going there for some art supples ... Might just use it for my Tuesday D-level.

If you only need a bit, I can give you some. But yeah, I've definately spent a while reeling over the possibilities with those terrain supplies.

That is so sexy. I would be interested in a one-on-one walk though and/or tutorial of the in's and out's of terrain sculpting. If you are interested, you know where to find me;)
