Long time no see!

Life kind of got the better of me, which is why I haven't been making any icons for a while. I'm nearly done with my BA degree, so I suppose a certain lack of time is understandable. Thankfully life is less hectic now (bah!), and I actually have time for extracurricular activities. Yay!

My friend lent me her copies of Nextwave, and the next thing I know, I'm completely addicted, hunting for the TPBs and scanning the hell out of them. I like Warren Ellis' work a lot, and Stuart Immonen's art is just gorgeous.

Snagged several Deadpool and a 2 Nextwave ones. Will credit when used. Really great icons, the Deadpool ones made me laugh and I loved the Fleshy ones. (NW)

Oooh, Poolio and Nextwave! Took some and will use and credit like always.

Aaron and Monica really are my favourite ones from Nextwave, and well, they've done the right thing and saved Aaron's Ellis given personality for his post-Nextwave appearances. Have you heard that Monica's about to be a permanent cast member in something called Marvel Divas (yeah, wtf)? I'm just wondering if they're going to keep her Ellis!personality intact as well. Because really, either let them be their awesome selves on their own or give us more Nextwave, right?

By the way, does my memory play tricky tricks on me or what the hell, because I kind of remember that you had more Deadpool icon ideas on your HD when you showed them to me?

Marvel Divas? Dudewtfbbqsauce? Hadn't heard of that. I really hope they allow Monica to be the way Ellis wrote her, because really, she is awesome like that. As for Aaron, my love for him has no bounds.

As for Poolio, I had a couple more icons of him, but I deemed them too crappy to be allowed to exist and deleted them.

You lucky bastard. Well, I'm going to ruin it for you, so brace yourself. This here's what they told us (I must warn you that the link also contains the first issue's cover art, which is really eye-searing in a jesus-are-those-pelvises-and-waists-and-human-boobs-what-the-fuck kind of way).

Basically, single Marvel superheroes meets Sex and the City. With Monica fucking Rambeau. If she keeps her Ellis!personality, it could actually be quite funny, but can't really believe it, because this is Marvel after all. But still... The draw of Nextwave!Monica is strong.

It is/was a bit of a kerfluffle, with Quesada trying to defend the title and putting his foot in his mouth, but anyway. Drama in the comics community, is anything really new.

They're right about two things: It is sexist and it is geared for teenage boys.
