i really like your entry. you touch good points without being blatanly one sided. i must admit that my entries sound like im anti war at all costs, and that i have a bit of anger in me.. but it's just venting some frustration from some people who completely do not understand that this war is more complex than the average american see's it to be. Also bush sr. coulda taken out sadaam during the gulf war back in the 1990's, but he pulled us out early (my daddie told me that.. he was a captain in the navy and fought over there in desert storm). So, I hope if we go forward with this war, we don't pussy out like we did last time :P
Everything could be solved with a war

I believe that everything wrong with the world today could be solved with a war. Whether it be a thumb war or a kick someone's ass war. Say if someone narks on you, what could you do? I would declare war and kick that person in the nuts. Problem solved. I wish all wars were this easy.
i'm tired of people saying that "this war is all about the OIL". even my science teacher, whom i respected for their knowledge, argues that bush just wants oil. after that i realized how ignorant people actually are, and how easily they jump on the first opinion bandwagon they see coming down the street.
Okay, so lets send 300,000 troops over to iraq to risk their LIVES, for bush's greed of oil? think again people. even bush, who everyone seems to think they are smarter than, knows better than that. besides, iraq isn't even the U.S.'s main source of oil. but i guess everyone already knew that since they are so close minded.
i won't talk much more, maybe i should talk about it in my journal instead of makin law's message board the kellen's opinion board.
I agree completely. Iraq contributes very little and what does filter through is through OPEC. Approximately 70-80% of the oil supply is supplied either domestically or from neighboring Canada and Mexico. But just because Iraq isn't the US' main source doesn't mean that Iraq's oil is insignifcant. The withdrawal of oil from the area would be enough to cause a near collapse in the national economy for several years.. though it would probably spur technological innovation.
Yes, Bush leapt into the war with reasons not related to oil. But to say that it played no part, however small, in his decision making processes is just naive. Even if it is, "Well.. as a bonus, perhaps the new government will increase oil output..", it is still a factor.

Maybe your parents should declare war on you and eliminate you. One less ignorant person in the world. Problem solved. Sounds good to me.
