It's not really about individual people, it's more... I see things being painted in such broad strokes and it's making me tired. Writers, fans, actors and shows are not binary entities, and it seems to me like right now, they can either be fantastic OR problematic hellholes. You know? It makes no sense.

(Also getting real tired of how Tumblr seems to think the entire world works like fandom. If that makes any sense.)

I know what you mean, but I've accepted that things are a bit extreme on Tumblr. I like seeing people get angry about things that don't get the attention they deserve irl.

So do you think that me enjoying Elementary is age related? :) I'm genuinely curious now (because I don't think it is, I think it's because I don't care about the canon as much as you do and so I don't analyse it too much from that angle)! :D
But we should definitely do more watchalongs later on! I haven't seen Red Dwarf X yet (except for episode 1) *waggles eyebrows*.

Well, I was thinking about you and me when I wrote that, and I thought to myself that when I was your age, I probably would have enjoyed Elementary. Then I tried to figure out why, and it's hard to put into words, exactly. I mean, the reason I don't really like Elementary is because of the eye-roll-y way it handles canon, yes, but the reason I find it offensive - more and more as time goes on and I learn more about it - is because of the way it handles issues like feminism, sexism, racism etc. (Which is compounded by the way its fandom seems to think it's the greatest thing to social justice since sliced bread). So, you know. The latter part is what has kept me from watching the show, and is what makes me angry about it

I guess you think about things more and care more as you get older. But you're also more calm and care less. I DON'T KNOW HOW THAT WORKS HOW DO AGE WORKS?!
