Hey, it looks like Mytho is reading Prinz und Rabe when Ahiru goes to talk to him.
Is he? Wow, I completely missed that.
And Fakir claps. xD I always wonder why.
Same here. XD It just seems odd.
Fakir is the first character to compare Ahiru to a duck, I think.
...And the first one to find out. Foreshadowing, perhaps?
It is pretty impressive that Ahiru can throw him like that, though. He's almost twice her size.
Inorite. XD I cheered, cause he was such an ass then. I wanted her to slap him, too. She's definitely got a little more strength to her than you'd think, though.
The whole title isn't visible, but I'm pretty sure it is. And I probably only noticed because this is the first time I'm watching it with the dub, so I can look at details in the animation instead of focusing on reading the subtitles. xD
Same here. XD It just seems odd.
It's probably meant to be our first tiny clue that he isn't a complete jerk, and secretly has nice qualities. Though, I remember seeing a drabble once that said the reason was that two girls dancing together is always hot, no matter what. xD

Yes, he is, and that, it could be. Fakir and Ahiru just ... know things about each other.

Yeah, it's one of my favorite early scenes for them. xD It would have been pretty awesome if she'd slapped him, but I guess she was too busy. Watching these first episodes, I'

Yeah, Fakir, you're totally one to call Mytho a jerk.
If I remember that scene's context right, I've always thought that he's laughing on the inside about Mytho being mean to Rue. XD

Yep, it sure is. I've always wondered why Fakir instructs Mytho to only read the books he gives him, then actually gives him the story he's from. Isn't he afraid of Mytho remembering stuff from the story? Unless Rue gave him the book, or something.
I think Ahiru's the only person on the main cast to regularly have normal reactions to things. Odd, considering what a spaz she is.
I think it's because she comes from outside the town. This is her first experience with being in a fairytale, and the other characters have lived there all their lives... (Then again, other characters that come from outside of the story seem only vaguely confused by things that are fairytale-ish. Hm.)
When did Ahiru learn the story of Hansel and Gretel, anyway? She knows about a lot of human

Yeah, probably. It's still ironic, though. xD And it's a little weird to think about Fakir having a sense of humor, really. I was trying, earlier, to remember whether he ever actually laughs, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't. There might be a derisive snort somewhere in there, but I think that's it.

Isn't he afraid of Mytho remembering stuff from the story? Unless Rue gave him the book, or something.Ah, I thought so. And that's true. It was kind of bothering me, too xD. Then again, IIRC, later Fakir tells Ahiru that he used to read that story to Mytho. I'm really not sure why he was doing that. Maybe it's because Fakir has such an attachment to the story himself that he wants to share it, and since he knew Mytho was heartless he figured it wouldn't make

I think I looked, and the only time he laughs is as a little kid. I think that's right. (Although now that I think of it, I can't remember when he DOES laugh...I just feel like he did at some point during his kid flashbacks. But it might've been more of an awed gasp...?) He DOES sort of make a smug snort when Autor calls Uzura and Ahiru "unrelated" to Drosselmeyer, but it's not quite a laugh.
Maybe it's because Fakir has such an attachment to the story himself that he wants to share it, and since he knew Mytho was heartless he figured it wouldn't make a difference?
Maybe...I guess he figures at this point that since he read it to him as a kid, there's no sense in keeping it from him now. But then why limit his reading at all? What is Fakir afraid he'll find if he reads everything?
And also, I guess since she's the protagonist she's allowed to voice things for

I can see that. I don't remember whether it actually happened, but it would make sense. In any case, I am now on the lookout for laughter from Fakir. xD

Yeah, maybe he figures the damage is already done, or something. And I don't know; maybe it's just part of how Fakir got carried away in trying to protect Mytho. Maybe he's afraid that if Mytho reads a tragedy, he'll go looking for the characters so he can save them. xD
Oooh, good point. So she's sort of an audience surrogate? (Also, the other stuff you said there makes sense, too.)Well, yeah
