[Anime] Naruto Shippuuden! (Ep 1-2)
NARUTO'S BACK.
You're wondering what's "Naruto Shippuuden"? Is it a new series? Well, in a sense, yes.
Basically, "Naruto Shipuuden" or "Naruto Hurricane Chronicles" is the continuation of the TV series "Naruto" --- they just gave it a new name to signify a new chapter in Naruto's life.
After 2 1/2 years of training with Jiraiya (we really waited almost 2 1/2 years because of the fillers) Naruto finally comes back to Konoha. He's older, taller (166 cm) and more mature? and finds himself with new obstacles to face, namely Akatsuki, in his quest to find Sasuke. Also this time they find a new "unwelcome" addition into the group who is supposed to replace Sasuke's abandoned post in Team 7.
After Watching The First Episode: I was totally in awe! Giving the series a new name was very apt since everything feels different! It's putting Naruto into the next level. The 1-hour special seemed like a theatrical production than an episode. The angles were different, even the soundtrack's theme has changed -- it has darker tones along the lines of Death Note (I had my speakers on high volume because the sound was just amazing! You'll really hear the BOOM! BOOM! of the bass) and it really added significantly to the mood. I was literally on the edge of my seat as the 1st 10 minutes unraveled (IT'S A HUGE SPOILER!!!).
THE OP/ED: The OP song "Hero's Comeback" by nobodyknows+ reminds a bit of the rap OP of "Samurai Champloo". At first I didn't immediately liked it but the melody slowly grew on me as I re-watched the episode 3 times. On the other hand, the ED song "Nagare Boshi ~Shooting Star~" by HOME MADE Kazoku was an instant hit with me. The animation sequence with Chibi Naruto and Sasuke was very cute!
OTHER OPINIONS: Can I fangirl here for a moment? ~Ah!!! Gaara's soooooooo handsome!!! Everybody seemed to have developed deeper voices, but of course! especially Konohamaru. I loved it when he said that he'll be the 7th Hokage because Naruto nii-chan's the Gokudaime (6th)! Since I'm a manga reader, I am eagerly awaiting the animated version of my favorite events!
