[News] Bleach & Death Note to be aired by GMA7
I'm not sure if the news is true, but I saw a thread in ANN where it was mentioned that GMA7 is planning to broadcast "Death Note". Well, they've already got "Bleach" lined up next month, so I don't know when they'll be airing it.
I'm not sure if they should go through with it since DN is such a dark story with moral and psychological undertones. Definitely not something little kids would be able to comprehend besides, I don't think they would want a repeat of the Shenyang Incident.
About "Bleach" being aired on local tv -- I still get the feeling of selfishness (where you want to keep the knowledge of the anime all to yourself) but only a little ^.^ I've experienced it with Yuyu Hakusho before, because back then I had this misguided notion that anime should only be enjoyed by hardcore fans like me. Well, I've become nicer ^_^. I'm actually glad because when a popular title gets aired on local tv, that means Comic Alley will sell the merchandise!!! (i.e. wallets, stationaries, jewelry, phone straps). Also they're already selling "original" (because in the end they were really fake) and pirated copies of anime series -__-"
