I've been in Japan a year as of today.

... Yeah, I don't believe it either.

wow, congrats! even though you say in your next post that your anxiety's rearing it's ugly head a bit more the last month-ish for various reasons, you should really be proud you made it through the first year struggles ^__^ it's nice when your life keeps you too busy to notice how quickly time passes eh? i had the same feeling in summer after reaching 1yr at my job (actually even now i'm like whaaaa how is it already mid october??)

but anyway, seeing this got me thinking ...i honestly don't remember how we got to being lj friends (i guess same fandom, but only online or did we meet at a live? lol it's been too long), but it'd nice to meet if you have the time while i'm in japan next year! you're in tokyo right? i'm going to be there all of january before moving on to other cities :)

Ahhh, I really appreciate this comment! Thank you so much for your kind words. I don't give myself a lot of credit for accomplishing things, so it really made my day to read this.

I believe we met forever ago via fandom (and probably fic?). But yes, it would be great to meet! I'm in Tokyo. If you need any advice or help planning your trip, let me know ^^

aww, well the way i see it from your posts, you seem to be steadily going forward ^^

awesome! and lol yeah, i'm still pretty lost on planning my trip (speaking of not accomplishing things... ^^;;; ) ...after i nixxed the idea of getting short term work in my industry i've been dawdling over choosing what to do - something i'd really like to do since it'll get me interacting w/ people, is volunteering, so if you know of any organisations (i'm looking for culture-related hopefully)? otherwise if you've heard of any good language schools since i still haven't chosen any even though i should've by september...
...aside from that, the fandom-part of my trip planning right now is just waiting on show announcements and crossing fingers i get successful ballots lol

Thank you! That really means a lot~

Hmm, in terms of volunteer work, I think it depends on the field... Things like language exchange are always easy to find, especially at culture centers or at prefectural offices?

In terms of language school I'm not sure, as I've never attended one! I know the price often reflects the location rather than the quality of teaching, so testimonials from past students are probably your best resource.

Waiting for ballots and tickets lotteries is always the worst -_- I hear you.
