This allowed him to think of people in their living context, their social situation. Sociologically, religion provides a culture's plausibility structure, so Kaplan rounded out his social theory with a concept of God sufficiently believable that it could drive Jewish civilization. As a naturalist, that meant God had to be rigorously immanent and he therefore defined God as "the power that makes for salvation."

I swear this was the closest book. And it hurts my head.

What a boring selection. Not even worth posting in my own journal. Maybe I should choose the not-nearest book.
