jongin's roommate cy has a friendly habit of kissing him on the cheek b4 leavin for work &jongin wonders if he'll ever kiss him on the lips WC 1044

Jongin’s not that attracted to Chanyeol’s morning breath as he is to Chanyeol’s bed head and the cute indents on his cheek from his pillow.

“Morning,” Chanyeol says, all low and naturally sultry. Then the wave of smelliness hits and Jongin has to push him to go to the bathroom to freshen up. Chanyeol drags his feet, asks Jongin to make some coffee even if he knows Jongin doesn’t like coffee. Coffee is poison-but he’ll make an exception for Chanyeol.

While the water boils, Jongin takes out some bread and begins toasting it when he hears Chanyeol finishing his shower. It’s more of a routine than anything but Chanyeol always looks shocks and says, “Oh you didn’t have to, but thank you Jonginnie~ I love you!”

Chanyeol is not allowed to do those things to Jongin’s heart if he knows what’s good for him. Jongin’s heart is going to evolve into some mega-heart and snatch Chanyeol up and throw him in bed for serious cuddles and stuff.

“I said, did you want one egg or two?” Jongin snaps out of it in time to request two eggs, because one is just never enough. Chanyeol should know this by now, he’s been doing it almost every day for an entire yet. If Chanyeol was a puppy, Jongin would not want to be the one dog-training him. He would probably pee everywhere and still manage to steal Jongin’s heart and that’s not a good thing. At all.

Instead, he has this lanky beanstalk who likes to hum Radiohead and sprinkle a little too much salt and pepper on their food with the finesse of a person trying-and failing-to be a chef on the food network channel.

“Don’t break my yolk,” Jongin says, placing his cheek on the cool counter while waiting.

“Don’t burn my toast,” Chanyeol counters, laughing when Jongin’s head snaps up and he hurries to turn off the oven. It’s not really burnt, but the edges are a little crispy. Really, it’s like a giant crouton and they both only eat the croutons in salads anyways.

“Thanks, it’s exactly how I like it. Just on the brink of edible,” Chanyeol teases, watching fondly as Jongin’s ears turn pink from embarrassment.

”This is exactly how you like it,” Jongin squawks, buttering the bread.

“Isn’t that what I just said?” Chanyeol plates the egg with a little satisfied smirk, looking so smug Jongin has to raise his fork under the pretense of stabbing him with it in order to get him to stop. Sometimes when they eat, Jongin absentmindedly slows down while chewing to stare at how Chanyeol’s hands dwarf his utensils. Somehow, Chanyeol eats like a five year old and is constantly licking his lips to get rid of the crumbs around his mouth and ends up spreading them all around.

“You would never fit in at a high classed dinner,” Jongin says dryly. It’s mostly to mask the fondness he feels when he wipes off Chanyeol’s mouth with a napkin. Chanyeol beams, wiggling his eyes at Jongin.

“Funny that you said that because I have to go to one tonight for work,” Chanyeol says. But it’s Friday. It’s their Friday, which means they’re supposed to order fried chicken and watch a horror movie while Chanyeol attempts to burrow himself in Jongin’s arms and Jongin tries not to fall more in love and it’s! It is! Their! Day!

“Oh,” Jongin says instead. “Have fun then.”

“Are you mad?” Chanyeol seems so concerned, instantly catching Jongin’s wrist and thumbing the back of his hand. It calms Jongin down in about two seconds, which incidentally, is the same amount it takes to get his heart racing again.

“No,” Jongin says, pouting a little bit. Okay, maybe he’s pouting a lot, but he’s trying to hide it and that’s what counts.

“But who are you bringing with you? Is it Krystal? You know she doesn’t like you.” Jongin’s not jealous, not really, but he looks away because he knows he’s going to look like a kicked puppy if he looks at Chanyeol.

“I’m bringing you of course. Who else would I bring when it’s Friday? It’s our day,” Chanyeol says, pulling Jongin in by the waist for a snuggly hug. Jongin squishes his face into Chanyeol’s neck and whines.

“I don’t know, maybe you forgot,” Jongin mumbles, clutching onto Chanyeol’s shirt.

“Like I would forget the most important day of the week,” Chanyeol scoffs, gently stroking Jongin’s hair. This is nice, it’s so nice that Jongin never wants to leave Chanyeol’s arms. He just wants to melt himself into Chanyeol, but that seems a bit extreme and a bit unreasonable when Chanyeol has to leave for work in a couple minutes.

Eventually, Jongin has to let go because he knows Chanyeol won’t do it if he thinks Jongin still feels upset. “Go put on your tie, you’ll hit traffic soon if you don’t go.”

“Okay, don’t miss me too much,” Chanyeol says, “do you want me to pick you up for tonight? Or do you want to meet there?”

“Pick me up?”

“Okay, I’ll swing by home around five-ish? Tonight? Will you be home?” Jongin follows Chanyeol into his bedroom, helping him with the tie.

“Yeah, I’ll be waiting,” Jongin says. Chanyeol smiles at Jongin like he’s made of maple syrup and sprinkles.

“Okay, I’ll try to be back soon. If we can end early, maybe we can even get some ice cream after.” Jongin nods, playing with the ends of Chanyeol’s tie. They walk towards the door together, Jongin hands him his messenger bag while Chanyeol fishes out his car keys.

“See you soon.”

“Okay, see you.”

“See you.”

“You have to go now Chanyeol,” Jongin says, laughing exasperatedly. Chanyeol giggles, pecking Jongin’s cheek as per morning ritual and ruffles his hair one last time.

“Okay, see you!” And then he’s off, running to his car before he’s late for work again. Jongin can’t help but stand and stare with his palm touching his cheek until the car leaves in the distance. Just another few hours before they can see each other again. God, he’s in too deep. Even as he cleans after their plates, he can’t help but think he doesn’t even mind.

HP!au: jongin's a ministry official sent to check pcy's house cos too many charmed muggle objects but he finds himself charmed by Chanyeol 1075 WC

Jongin is pretty sure that the only reason why he was assigned this position is because he was the most qualified. He recognizes muggle objects because he was muggle born, which is perfectly fine because he graduated with one of the top scores anyways despite his quote unquote disadvantages.

He started from the bottom but now he was here, but here seems to be a perfectly fine home. It’s white with a picket fence and badly planted pansies. Jongin almost considers calling back into headquarters to see if he’s got the right address, but it’s almost impossible for there to be a mistake. There was a call to check on a man named Park Chanyeol, part elf three generations removed.

(“Be careful, he’s dangerous.” “Should I call for backup? But didn’t you say he was your friend or something?” “He’s not dangerous, but trust me, he’s dangerous. Try not to let him trip on you or he’ll bring the whole house down or something. Or even, try not to trip on him. He’s got the mobility of a drunk tarantula.”)

Hesitantly, he approaches the door and knocks twice before stepping back. The door opens and Jongin unexpectedly has to look up. He wants to say this man is an elf, but his ears are not quite pointed enough and he’s intimidatingly tall. Jongin squares his shoulders and puts on his most serious face.

“Hi! Can I help you with anything?” The smile is so bright and eager that Jongin falters for a bit.

“Oh um, I’m from the Ministry of Magic. I was sent because I heard you have a lot of questionable-what are you doing?” Jongin squirms when Chanyeol’s eyes zero in on his front pant pockets.

“Is that what I think it is?”

“What,” Jongin asks, looking down at his pants. He knows he remembered to zip today.

“A telephone! Not just any telephone! A cell phone! I can tell that outline from anywhere! I’ve been studying you know,” Chanyeol says excitedly.

“Oh yeah, I use it to call my parents sometimes. The dogs don’t like floo powder, it makes them sneeze.” Jongin takes out his cell phone because Chanyeol seems like he’s itching to see it.

“It’s not just any cell phone! It’s a smart phone! Amazing invention smart phones are, the best things since butterbeer. Oh, where are my manners. Would you like to come inside?” Before Jongin can even answer, he’s being ushered inside. There are shelves upon shelves of random trinkets, shined to perfection. He’s never seen such an immaculate electric fan before, as they usually have a ton of dust graying the back.

“Would it make it more authentic if I let dust accumulate on the back? I should do that, shouldn’t I. Maybe I can magic some onto it,” Chanyeol muses. Jongin stops him before Chanyeol can reach for his wand, and assures him that it’s a good thing. Chanyeol pockets his wand, then proceeds to drag Jongin upstairs where there seems to be an entire inventory of household appliances and other objects on their own little pedestals.

“This is my collection, pretty impressive isn’t it? I ordered it from a site called Amazon on an internet on a laptop. Crazy invention, and they do this thing called two day shipping for only 10 Galleons, 6 Sickles, and 21 Knuts a year!”

“Wouldn’t it just be faster to go into a muggle store and buy everything? This all looks like stuff you could get from Target or Walmart,” Jongin says. Chanyeol makes a humming noise, like he’s considering it. Then he shoves a bunch of bubble wrap in Jongin’s face.

“But it doesn’t come with this peculiar invention. They call it bubble wrap. I’ve enchanted it so that it’s basically an indestructible and flexible armor! I could fall off a building wrapped in this and still come out unharmed! Let me show you!”

“I don’t think that’s necessary-DON’T JUMP OUT THE WINDOW!” There is a yelp, followed by the sound of bubble wrap popping.

Another hour later, they’re both sitting in Chanyeol’s kitchen, tending to Chanyeol’s wounds. “I’m still working on it, it’s a prototype,” Chanyeol insists. Jongin almost doesn’t have the heart to tell Chanyeol that it’s all being confiscated. Especially not after Chanyeol shows him a battery operated puppy that has been enchanted to play like a real puppy. Half of it is quite harmless, and Jongin almost considers letting Chanyeol keep some stuff until Chanyeol tells him that he washes the batteries so they can keep their shine.

“Listen, I don’t know how to tell you this, but you can’t keep everything.” Chanyeol’s face falls and Jongin kind of wants to pat his head? Maybe tell him everything is going to be okay even if his hobby is a potential hazard? Then there is a knock on the door, right before Kyungsoo walks in unceremoniously with a squad of people to confiscate the goods. Chanyeol cries out, torn between wanting to take back his pancake making printer and warning Kyungsoo that the tetherball swings around the pole by itself and he’s never quite managed to make it stop.

“On the bright side, you can finally buy some useful stuff,” says Kyungsoo. Chanyeol looks at him imploringly, the sort of puppy eyed look that would crumble any person with a heart. Kyungsoo is not such a person.

“At least let me keep something? Anything?” Kyungsoo considers it, especially when Jongin joins in with the pouting.

“We’ll see. They have to be checked first though. In case any of them are potential hazards,” Kyungsoo muses, narrowing his eyes at Chanyeol. His automatic tetherball hits Kyungsoo on the way out. “You’re never getting that back,” Kyungsoo says, walking upstairs and letting out a yell when he’s out of sight.

Half an hour later, Chanyeol sits on his couch, facing where his muggle television used to be. “He really took everything.” Jongin sits down awkwardly, attempting to console Chanyeol.

“Well, maybe not everything?” Chanyeol looks at Jongin, skeptical because they both know Kyungsoo. Jongin opens his coat and lets out Chanyeol’s puppy, who seems almost as excited to see Chanyeol as Chanyeol is excited to see his pup.

Chanyeol brings Jongin into a big hug, proudly exclaiming, “You’re my favorite person in the world!”

Instead of saying thank you or you’re my favorite person too, Jongin stutters out, “Just make sure you don’t wash the batteries.”

single dad jongin hires chanyeol to babysit his son 1441 WC

It’s not that Jongin doesn’t like Sehun, it’s just that he doesn’t have time to spend with Sehun every second of the day-and Sehun is notoriously clingy. So he does the best that he can, which means, putting an ad on craigslist for a nanny to take care of an 8 year old son during the weekdays and some weekends.

He’s sifting through the emails and resumes when Sehun decides to pick one for the both of them, based on no real qualifications.

“Daddy, he said his specialization is being a cuddle monster. We have decided, I pick you,” Sehun said, leaving smear marks on Jongin’s laptop screen.

“You want a monster to take care of you?” Jongin reviews Park Chanyeol’s resume anyways. Chanyeol is just slightly older than Jongin, a freelance composer looking for a day job. Jongin looks closer and yes, being a cuddle monster is apparently one of his specialties-the other being able to cook hot dogs on a stove. There is clip art on his cover page, and Jongin begins to understand why Sehun is set on this person already.

“We’ll call him in and see how it goes, okay?” Sehun nods, swinging his legs while sipping on his cup of milk. Jongin helps Sehun cut his toast into bite sized pieces before he has to get changed for work.

When he comes back to his computer, he nearly has a heart attack when he sees that Sehun has sent an email on Jongin’s work email. It’s a message to Chanyeol, simply stating “come soon there is no more milk Xoxo sehun” Sehun looks so proud, Jongin doesn’t have the heart to scold him.

“We’ll talk about this later, but for now we need to get you to school. Why aren’t you wearing your socks?”

“Why aren’t you wearing your socks?” Sehun sticks his tongue at his dad and dashes off into his room before Jongin can catch him and tickle him into submission. Jongin pretends to go after him for a couple seconds, just to hear Sehun shriek gleefully.

“Don’t forget to take out a jacket! It’s cold in the classroom,” Jongin says. Sehun’s hand pops out from his room, dangling a jacket to show his dad.

“Life would be so much easier if he wasn’t just like me,” Jongin sighs, piling their dishes into the sink. He thinks he wouldn’t have it any other way though. Sehun’s the cutest person that has ever entered his life, and loves his dad almost as much as he loves chocolate bubble tea.

A couple hours later, Jongin comes home from work with Sehun in tow. Sehun’s excited to come home early from now on instead of being dropped off at the afterschool care center, but that’s to be expected. At home there’s video games, food in the fridge, a warm bed, all the toys that daddy spoils him with, and a tall man waiting outside their door with a grocery bag. Wait. What?

“Can I help you with anything?” The man tucks his hair behind his ears before extending his hand to Jongin, other hand around his elbow. Absentmindedly, Jongin follows the formal greeting.

“Hello, I’m Park Chanyeol. I was told to come soon?” Sehun gasps, letting go of Jongin’s hand to peer into the grocery bag.

“Daddy, he brought milk! Just like I told him too! Can we keep him?” It’s the right brand that Sehun likes too. Jongin wanted to at least interview the man first, but Sehun is already pulling Chanyeol into their living room. On the bright side, Chanyeol seems to be harmless.

“Are you going to pour me a glass of milk?” Chanyeol looks at Jongin first, as if he’s silently asking for permission to intrude in their home. Jongin gives him a nod, waving them towards their little kitchen. Chanyeol follows Sehun’s directions, finding the cups and pouring one for Sehun with an arm at his back-the kind of playful stuff that Sehun gets a kick out of.

“Did you say please?” Jongin shuts the door behind him and drops off Sehun’s backpack and his briefcase on the couch.

“Please,” Sehun says, already drinking his milk anyways.

“Do you mean it?”

“Yessss,” Sehun says, dragging the word out long-sufferingly. Jongin sighs, Chanyeol’s going to figure out eventually that Sehun’s not the most polite kid in the world if he ends up staying around.

“Do you think we could put chocolate in it? I like chocolate milk,” Sehun says. Chanyeol raises an eyebrow skeptically.

“How old are you?”

“I’m eight years old!”

“Did you know that chocolate milk is for children 9 years old and up?”

“Then I’m nine years old!”

“Ah, in that case, I just remembered that chocolate milk is for children 10 years and up!”

Sehun giggles, hunching over and making his voice raspier, “Then I’m a million billion trillion five ten billion trillion ten trillion years old!”

“Wow~” Chanyeol says, clapping his hands. “In that case, you can have it if your dad says okay.”

Jongin jokingly taps his fingers on his chin, laughing when Sehun whines.

“Okay, but just a little bit. One spoonful.” Sehun and Chanyeol simultaneously cheer. Chanyeol’s cheers are a little softer, eyes dancing back and forth nervously like he’s trying to see if Jongin approves of him yet. Sehun shows Chanyeol where they keep the chocolate syrup, and he holds the spoon while Chanyeol pours just the right amount of chocolate in it and stirs for Sehun.

“I like you, I don’t know why we didn’t do it sooner,” Sehun says, smacking his lips together. Chanyeol laughs, wiping Sehun’s mouth for him.

“It’s probably the chocolate milk talking,” Chanyeol says knowingly. Sehun shrugs, pulling Chanyeol towards the television because he’s decided that they’re going to play games.

“Sehun, did you finish your homework yet?” Sehun stills at his dad’s voice, feet frozen mid-step. Chanyeol copies his action, and they turn together when Sehun faces Jongin and shakes his head with a hopeful face, like he thinks Jongin will really say it’s okay to play games before his homework is finished.

“Pretty please? With a cherry on top?” Jongin shakes his head, crossing his arms to show that he really means it.

Sehun frowns, dragging his feet to his backpack.

“I’m pretty good at schoolwork, I can help you. Then we can play games together, okay Sehunnie?”

That seems to be the perfect trick to get Sehun motivated. Jongin watches as Sehun teaches Chanyeol how to do the homework, explaining the tricks of counting with his fingers. Chanyeol claps his hands, exclaiming exaggeratedly and high-fiving Sehun every time he gets the answer right. Jongin secretly takes photos with his phone. While Sehun warms up to people pretty quickly, he has a harder time warming up to adults because they always ask him traditional grown-up questions like How is school? or How old are you now? Chanyeol, on the other hand, asks questions like What kind of games do you play? and Is that the limited edition Rilakkuma plush? Which is nice, because it’s like Sehun is playing with someone his own age, who is simultaneously a person who is able to reach the first aid kid and handle the stove in case Sehun gets hungry.

At the end of the day, Jongin sees Chanyeol out to the door after Sehun is already tucked in bed.

“So did I get the job?” Chanyeol’s fidgeting nervously, but he doesn’t really have a reason to. He’s handled Sehun for almost an entire day but doesn’t seem the least bit tired of Sehun yet.

“Yeah, I’m starting to think Sehun likes you more than he likes me,” Jongin jokes.

“That’s not true! He really loves you a lot,” Chanyeol says shyly. They both laugh, not really sure if they should leave yet. Jongin’s toes kind of curl inward, and he doesn’t think he’s felt this way since Sehun’s mom.

“Okay well, I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“Yeah, see you tomorrow!”

“See you!”

Jongin closes the door, picking up stray papers and folders off the floor when one catches his eyes. It’s almost hidden behind Sehun’s drawings of deer and hamsters, but there’s a small list of reasons why Jongin-daddy should date Chanyeol-ahjusshi-hyung. So far, there’s three bullet points.

1. Chanyeollie buys my favorite milk.

2. Chanyeollie is better at Mario Kart than daddy.

3. Chanyeollie looks at daddy’s butt.

The third bullet point has a star next to it. Jongin thinks he’s going to have to bring this up with Sehun tomorrow, but for now, he’ll just look for a nice pair of pants to wear tomorrow.
