If you experienced Halloween in the 70's, this site is sure to bring back memories. ^_^ If you're a costumer that grew up in the 70's, you'll recognize this as 'the enemy'. XD
My parents shamed me...tristencitrineOctober 25 2005, 16:26:36 UTC
I'm pretty sure I had that one Strawberry Shortcake costume one year. That was back when I was so young, I just called it "Cakey". Actually, My sister and I still refer to the dolls as "Cakeys". Ahhh Indiana...
If I recall right, the mask had scent in it, too. YAY FUMES.
"The Enemy" is right - even for us 80's kidskusanivyOctober 25 2005, 18:08:25 UTC
God how I hated those types of costumes! Even when I was 8!
I guess I had a cosplayer's mentality even then because I remember complaining bitterly to my mother one Halloween that I wanted to actually LOOK like the person not just run around with a mask and a plastic smock on.
And I remember getting into an argument with a kid in grade 2 (I was in gr 3) because he claimed his plastic smock with the boys on the front/crappy plastic mask Ninja Turtle costume was better than my home made one that actually had a shell . I don't think so dude! I had they best flying saucer -painted as turtle shell around! ;)
As bad as most current retail costumes are - at least they're better than the Plastic Smocks Of DOOOM!
