Wow,lot of stuff that polaris gonn have this year. Its just too bad that i cant effort to attend it du to the fact its in toronto (I can only go to toronto once a year wich is for AN) and money :( Maybe you should post that one the forums too :)
Okay ... now I'm confused ... I was going to do the Costumer's Pass, but when I checked out the registration page it said this: "Costumers Includes Basic Membership rights, Friday Saturday or Sunday access to Polaris 22, no access to Guest Talks/autographs/photos, Dance or Masquerade audience. Allows entry into Masquerade competition, and Friday night Vampire Ball" which is why I had to suck it up and get a weekend membership. If I was able to get into the dance with just the Costumer's Pass I would have just gone with that every day instead of the weekend one. =(
I'm not sure I understand what you're confused about. I'm on the committee, so I may be able to explain.
The intent behind the Costumer's membership is to allow people who want to cosplay or enter (not watch) the Masquerade to be able to do so without having to buy the full weekend membership. They can also attend regular panels (not necessarily just the Costuming track - all panels) and, IIRC, the Vampire Ball on Friday night.
Basically, anything that involves access to the Main Room, apart from being a Masquerade entrant, is outside the scope of the Costumer's membership. (Same thing with the Gamer's membership.)
Oh, don't get me wrong, I know exactly what the Costumer's Pass is all about, my confusion is that two different pages on the website say two slightly different things about what the pass includes.
The main registration page says that the Costumer's Pass DOES NOT include the Saturday night Dance, and yet the Masquerade page says what Dawn quoted in her post: "For just $15 cash, per day, you can have full-access to all Discussion Panels (including the Saturday & Sunday Creative Costumer’s Convention), Dealers Room, Video Room, Charity Auction, Hospitality Suite, Art Show, the Friday night Victorian Vampire Reception and the Saturday Night DanceI'm not confused about the purpose of the pass, just whether I would have been able to actually get into the dance with it (which is what I was unsure about, so I ended up opting for the weekend pass, just in case). I already know about the Masq entrance specifics, but I probably should only have bolded the DANCE part in my original comment, and not the Masq part, since that's what I'm confused
( ... )
I think it's a great lineup this year and I am actually going to be able to attend finally. I don't know if I will be able to get a costume together in time.
